Can servos be used in the stock class?  I have not been able to locate anyhing that says they are or are not allowed.

I don't think there is anything against it except you can't have more than $20 in modifications outside the kit. Which would probably be impossible to find a servo that would work under water. Also within those 20 dollars you would have to find some controller for the servo (like a microcontroller and potentiometer)

I asked this question on Feb 25, in the Stock Class rules section.  The response was that you can use PWM to control 'actuators', but that the rule "Teams may only utilize stock SeaPerch motors (Jameco Electronics P/N 232022)" applies to 'actuators'.  I took this to mean that servos are not authorized, regardless of cost.  And, yes, you can find servos and build controller circuit for such a servo for less than $10, so it's not a cost issue.
