Can the Sea Perch go Wireless?

Can the Sea Perch go Wireless?

I am new at all of this.  I attended a workshop for teachers and am now researching ideas for my students.  This may be a really dumb question, but is there a way to do it without the tether cord and go "wireless"???
Thanks.

For short distances, RC gear can be used in fresh water.  The true answer is no.  transmitting signals thru water is very hard and very expensive.  This is why commercial ROVs use tethers as well.

Actually, my High School Senior project last year was on this topic.  I did suceed on a compromise that I think would interest you and the community.  I will be posting my notes and details of my senior project during the summer.
